1 year later: Iphone Xr is the most sold phone in 2019...
The XR is great! Coming from a 7 it’s fantastic and having a 300$ trade in value I’m feeling really good about the cost...the display is just fine! The in between screen size is just right. Overall most people will be more than happy with this device
It's almost have been a year since I bought my XR, I LOVE it guys. If you are looking for a low budget and high performance smartphone, buy it. Maybe it's a disaster for the tech reviewers and developers but personally I think it's very user-friendly and a nice looking phone. Also you can't watch 1080p or 4k vids "technically," even though you can shoot 4k vids.
Unbox therapy: The iPhone Xr has the same resolution as the iPhone 4!!!
What is even more depressing is that you were wrong about the iPhone XR. It ended up outselling both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. I am a huge tech enthusiast, but most average consumers are not going to care about screen resolution. As Jon said from Front Page Tech; “The market doesn’t need innovation right now, it needs compromise.”

Huge Apple fan, but I couldn't agree with you more. I was extremely disappointed as I compared them side by side on their own website. They really need to step up resolution with a near $1k phone. Good review and solid homework. Keep up the good work.
Great video! Yeah, you're absolutely right. It's good enough but it could have been better. But there's only one maker of iOS compatible phones so there's no competition. At least they still sell the 8 Plus so we do have a 1080p budget option (with huge bezels!)
Having the same pixels per inch is not the same as having same resolution. The XR has significantly higher resolution because it’s a larger device the density of pixels have remained same.

For anybody who has an Xr , y'all made a good buy because its a good phone with amazing software, a powerful chipset and an awesome camera, no need to feel ashamed for what you love : )
If this phone got him to outrage, just imagine what video would he have made about the IPhone 11 which has the exact same screen.

Lew, understand this: 1) Apple did not decide on the resolution of the XR. The market did. Apple simply optimised the offering according to what the market wanted and was prepared to pay for. 2) Companies are NOT nice, they are NOT "your friend", and they don't have any sort of moral obligation to offer you anything. Was Apple to decide to offer the XR with a resolution even worse than this one, AND price twice as much, that would be fair. Why? Because Apple is not obliging anyone to buy their devices.
I actually love my XR.
2 years later: Apple's newest phone has the high-resolution (for 2010) 326 ppi display resolution.
Pretty sure you have to buy the extra pixels in the apple store.
